Happy F$@%ing New Year

Ok, so now this is just insane. The RIAA not only wants to make sure you pay for your music, but now it’s obvious that they want you to pay for every copy of that song you have. Buying the CD isn’t enough. So you know what’s next… Burning a CD from iTunes of music purchased online will be the next target. Because you didn’t ask the All-Mighty RIAA if you could.

Beleaguered Palm misses estimates, forecasts wider losses as customers defect en masse (to iPhone)

Oh, this is just rich. Makes me think back to Palm talking about how much experience they have in the market and how Apple will take years to make a dent.

Sorry, laughing uncontrollably

So this is 2 quarters in a row for Palm missing the mar….

Sorry another fit of laughter.

Another quarter of them missing the mark.

Telecommuting Can Save the World

So we have a greenhouse gas problem. We have traffic problems. We have divorces caused by infidelity of working spouses. We have children running loose on the street causing problems and getting into trouble because they are unsupervised. We increasingly have problems with people not having enough time to get things done. If you are reading this, you have the solution staring you in the face.

Historically, as society was building and growing, people would work from home. Blacksmiths lived on the same properties as their shops, bakers the same, and do I really have to mention farmers? We migrated to working in offices for several reasons. We can move away from them, but we have to change the way we think and work. But, it could possibly have the single largest impact on the environment and society.

I will start a series of posts that will compile my thoughts and research on telecommuting. I have worked from home quite a lot in the last 5 years, and it makes it very hard to get in the car and go to a “job.” Over the next few weeks, I will be working on compiling my thoughts on working from home and how to best implement it from both the employee and employer perspective.

I would love to have comments and suggestions on topics to address as well as questions from people who work from home and have found good ways to make it work best for them. I will compile the tools that would help you better work from home as well as methods. I hope to hear from you.

This is great news for just about everyone. Ok, not everyone, but it’s still good news.
