McCain predicts Iraq war won by 2013

Right, that’s because if he doesn’t get it “Won” by the end of the first term, he’ll just nuke the planet. He’ll be like 80 by then and will be dead soon, so he won’t care if he takes the rest of us with him or not.

McCain predicts Iraq war won by 2013: “Sen. John McCain thinks the Iraq War will be won but the threat from the Taliban in Afghanistan won’t yet be eliminated, even though Osama bin Laden will be captured or killed, by 2013.

File Browser

Ok, I need some help here. I’m not a programmer, well, not an Application programer. However, I need a problem solved programmatically. I want a new interface for browsing files. Not all files mind you, but files that I consider to be “Archived.” I even want this program to go GET the files that should be archived. I want this program to back itself up to .Mac, Time Machine, and ftp. I want this programs interface… To LOOK like a filing cabinet.

I’m thinking 36 drawers A-Z and 0-9. and I want it to present things like a file cabinet. I know this isn’t conventional. I know this isn’t great UI Design. However, I want all my documents that are more than 2 years old archived. I don’t want them on DVD, because that would not allow for easy retrieval if I did need one. I want the archive to understand that it’s different than my “active” files and because of that, shouldn’t look like my other files. I would need to be able to right click on a file and send it to the “Archive.”

Oh, and if someone wanted to give it the ability to catalog the contents and store them on an Encrypted Disk Image, that would be pretty cool as well. Oh, and one other thing. I would really like to be able to make subfolders inside the folders. For example, unless things change around here drastically, I’m going to be on Suddenlink (Cox) Internet for a long time. I have been on them for years now as it is. I would like to be able to have a divider in the Archive that would say Suddenlink (Cox), then folders for each year 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, etc. Then, on each folder I would like to be able to have a checklist of some sort that would allow me to check off and make sure that I have all the statements for that year. I don’t know, just overly OCD I suppose, but hey, if Martin Luther King can have a dream, then so can I.

Um… What’s up with .Mac

The .Mac website is “…temporarily unavailable.”

Something is up over that direction methinks. eMail is working fine in Mail.app, but the website is down and so is my .Mac AIM client. Looks like its been down for a few hours.

The last time I remember it being unavailable was when they did the the upgrade on the web interface to email.

Wonder if this has something to do with the rumors related to .Mac and iPhone.
